Glide Shift Problems?

OK Sorry Posted this on the wrong forum. Let's try again on this one. I did a search for glide shift but all I found was discussions on GST versus HST. OK read all the post on GST verses HST they all make sense. But my question is dependability, and service particularly on the GST's. I know how to work on HST's. Would like to hear if anyone has had problems with GST's. By the way for general info they are coming out with new GST in Jan. 12 speeds, electronic shifted, supposedly smoother. I am looking at a L2900 GST with 1000 hrs. very clean. First time I drove a Kubota GST. Is it supposed to have a defenite slip between gears or is it supposed jerk a little. Would really like to know if this slippage is normal before I go buy this one for $9000.

I owned a Kubota L35 for awhile and that has teh GST. Now I don't know about others having trouble with them or not but I can tell you that I didn't. It when running in forward and then shifting to a different gear actually shift smoothly------slipping??? Yeah there is a hesitation when changing but I wouldn't say slipping. But then again the next person may call it that. I don't think you have much to worry about the GST and with 1000 hrs it's still young depending on the year of the tractor and if it's 4wd the prices will vary. Goodluck

I have a kubota 3710 with GST. Yes, there is a normal hesitation when changing between gears. If not pulling a load, the hesitation is not very noticeable. However, if pulling a load, the tractor will stop completely before shifting. I usually just do normal clutch shifting when pulling a load. I have only about 300 hours, mostly loader work with no problems.
