Have been looking to upgrade from Bx 2200 Fel, 60 Mmm. Looked at Bx 2660 and then B 7800 and now B3030. Don't really need anything larger just desire. Saw the fender mounted joystick on Bandit67 B3030 and that was neat. Just asking any ideas, suggestions or comments. Thanks

Depends on the use. If you are mowing with it, the B3030 is sweet, especially the cab version :D

If you use it mainly for loader and 3 pt work the new Grand L 40's are real nice. If I could do it over that is what I would get because I don't use mine for mowing.

I have a B2630 the 3030's little brother and it has been a great little work horse. The 3030 will make you a great tractor. Good luck with your purchase!

I used to be part of the bigger is better crowd and sort of regretted getting the B3030 unit that I have in favor of something larger.

I have come to change my song, "More maneuverable is better." The B3030 is perfect for me. It can do what I want and need, and fits in my garage easily. I can get around tight corner pretty easily if I am careful.

My reason for posting is that you said you don't need anything bigger.

The 3030 is a compact powerhouse, strong loader and pto. I would have held on to ours had our grand L package not been so expensive.

Thanks Guys. I'm sure I will be happy with the 3030 and it will do everything that I need. Still a few things I'm undecided about. Looks like the fel quick coupler option is only $ 200. and even though I'll probably not buy forks it might be worthwhile to add that option. Also, since the joystick stays on with fel off, the fender mount (cab style as bandit67 posted) seems great but wondering if that is an option or if it would be up to the dealer if he would do that and at what expense. Looks like loader cost is the same cab or not. Would love the cab but it would require another new garage. Also hearing different answers on max size tiller with 3030. Didn't know if the reversing tiller required more hp. Thanks again.

As I recall, reversing tiller rotation requires LESS HP because the tractors' forward movement is helping the tiller do its work. You'll love the B3030; cab rules if doing any snow removal.

Another data point for you:

I run a KKII 60" tiller behind my B3030 with absolutely no problems. Works great.

Haven't tried larger or smaller, so I can't say for sure, but in my experience the 60" seems just right for this tractor.

Pappy,

I ran a 50" Landpride tiller behind my 24hp subcompact, and my buddy used it on his BX22 and both machines did fine with it. I think Lindy's recommendation on a 60" tiller is a good one.

The cab version loader joystick is an "option" that some dealers will and some won't do for you. There's only a $180 - $200 price difference between it and the standard joystick. My dealer only charged me the material cost difference and didn't charge any extra to install it. There is no reason for a dealer to NOT install the cab version joystick for you, other than being ornery. The LA403 installation manual that I received with my machine details how to install the cab version joystick on both the cab model AND non-cab model.

Check my pics to see what I did with the control cables - I've routed them through the floorboard the way the cab model has it (drilled a hole & installed a rubber grommet). For some reason, the installation manual for the non-cab model directs the installer to run the 2 cables outside the edge of the floorboard.

If you get the pin-type QA when you buy the machine, it will allow you to add any aftermarket pin-on attachment down the road and be able to utilize the QA feature.
