Oil & Fuel Getting pink spots on snow when using 3032E

I posted a question about how clear my hydro fluid is (http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/194123-hydro-fluid-extremely-clear.html)
... and kennyd responded that Deere sells a red dye for hydro fluid to make it more visible thru sight glasses & on dipsticks.
1*Maybe it is hydro fluid?
1*Red dye in the hydro fluid makes sense to me.

I just bought a brand new John Deere 3032E diesel and noticed there are pink spots in various locations on the snow where I have run the tractor. I just got it back from the shop and they said they couldn't find a diesel leak.
2*I Believe the hydrolic fluid is a different color so ruled that out.
2*Why not look at the fluid and see what color it is.

Kebo, I am unaware of any JD fluids with a red color.
3*Perhaps you are mistaken.
4*Rick, I assume you are using off road diesel. Make sure your fuel bowl is tight. I did a quick search for tech bulletins on that tractor. Nothing reported at this time.
3*I don't think he is cause JD sells a red dye for hyd tranny fluid.
4*Or it could be red dyed hydro fluid rather than diesel .

Same thing happened to me a few yrs ago with my 3203, asked here and nobody could pinpoint it. It did it for 3 yrs, never found the source. Just dealt with it and watched for low fluids, which never happened.
Now this yr with my 3720 I get the same pink spots. Sometimes they are on the right side, sometimes the left, but always seem to be on the inside edge of the tire track. No pink/red fluids in this tractor either. Still seems baffling to me:confused::confused: But just deal with it I guess.........

Rim Guard in the tires? I have Rim Guard in all four tires and wondered if it could have been splattered on the tires when filling (it has a reddish color). Just a thought.

Apparently, it's a hydraulic leak.

CC in all 4 tires on both tractors.... but after 3 yrs and 300+ hrs on the 3203 I would have had a tire or 4 go low if the tires were leaking fluid. Same thing on this 3720 @ 74 hrs now...... I will try to remember a camera tommorow as it is snowing like mad right now and get pics.

I checked the exhaust thinking maybe it was coming from there...one of the first things I did....it was bone dry. I also noticed pink snow stuck to my INSIDE real wheels. This would make me believe that the fuel is running down the fuel tank and dripping off. It is not being thrown or it would show on other parts of the tractor. I say it is the fuel gauge that is leaking. It all looks flimsy with the plastic tank. Mine isn't glued to the tank or anything and has a rubber gasket between gauge and tank. Since I am down to half a tank now it isn't doing it....or as much. Hope we get the snow tonight. Run it with half tank....then fill it and run it to see.

I had trouble trying to find the leak on my 4110. I finally determined it was coming from the tranny, but I couldn't see where. I cleaned off the tranny (used brake cleaner) and dried everything. Started the blower and pushed it into a big drift a couple of times till I saw spots. Found fluid at the bottom of a plate that is bolted on the side of the tranny. It is one of those "no gasket" fits that apparently seals fine until the blower is at full RPM's and under heavy load.

No snow here in NJ, just a rain event. I checked my rear fluid for the 3rd time in 2 weeks and noticed instead of a light brown it is green now so wondering if the dealership dyed it green looking for a leak. Next snow it will be leaking either green or red. Anyone want to place their bets??

Is it always in the tire tracks?

Does the trans have any vent that vapor could be coming from when it's worked real hard?

Any grease fittings weeping? That's if red grease was used.
