Getting crushed rock back on driveway

/ Getting crushed rock back on driveway #51
In SD with the winds? Piling snow on the side like that would cause it to drift shut. Sorry grew up in SD and we always had to be concerned about the drifting when we plowed or piled it up. The state is famous for getting 2" of snow that you see 10X until it is allpiled up where you do not want it.
Sorry, I was not very articulate. I meant only clear the width that you currently clear. The idea of a shoulder gives a space for rocks to migrate during the winter process without getting into the grass. Depending on the property, we would use a loader to move excess snow away from the driveway. In other cases it could be blown far enough to not be a problem.

Like you said, the wind ultimately decides where the snow ends up. I've seen drifts up to the rooftops (1 story) when there was less than a foot of snowfall.
