Hi everyone, well it looks like its time to get a new tractor and sell my faithful JD 770. I'm getting to old for a 2 hour drive home and spend 2-3 hours plowing my easements and my neighbors in an open tractor on those cold Michigan nights with the cold temps and the wind chill factor , I'm getting cold just thinking about it again.
Anyways, after reviewing my finances what Im thinking of doing is getting the JD 3039r tractor with the deluxe cab, need the Air Seat for my bad back and as much hydraulics as I can afford on it, of course the loader / bucket for as starters too. I would like to get the tractor before winter. I have most of the 3 point hitch implements and since it would be better to sell my JD 770 on Craigs list than trade it in. I would sell it on there later and use that money to purchase the other implements I need, Snow Pusher, Snow Blower, Finish Mower, etc.
Im still undecided on which ones. Anyways, as far as the base tractor with the hydraulics that I need to be covered for any future implements I decide on; what would you guys recommend? The old 770 is pretty simple controls for the FEL and three point hitch and thats about it. These new tractors are another whole different animal for me. Mid selective, 4th & 5th SVC, were explained to me by the Deere sale guy and what Im read on line. But I just want to make sure Im covered if I want to get a snow blower, mid mount mower, rear hydraulic blade, etc.
If you guys can recommend what hydraulics and controls that would good it would be helpful . I little about myself, I plow about 5,000 feet of easements, x 4 passes. I live out in the country in Southern Michigan where the snow is a little deeper the metro Detroit. Also, I have many, many large pine trees that fall from time to time and need to be taken care of, so forks are a must. My back is shot, so that's another reason to go to the cab and air seat. Also, getting implements on and off aint getting any easier. Sorry for the long post but this is a BIG event in my humble life. Thanks for your future input, Scott (Mods if this is in the wrong area, please move it, thanks!)
