Hi everyone, well it looks like its time to get a new tractor and sell my faithful JD 770. I'm getting to old for a 2 hour drive home and spend 2-3 hours plowing my easements and my neighbors in an open tractor on those cold Michigan nights with the cold temps and the wind chill factor , I'm getting cold just thinking about it again.

Anyways, after reviewing my finances what Im thinking of doing is getting the JD 3039r tractor with the deluxe cab, need the Air Seat for my bad back and as much hydraulics as I can afford on it, of course the loader / bucket for as starters too. I would like to get the tractor before winter. I have most of the 3 point hitch implements and since it would be better to sell my JD 770 on Craigs list than trade it in. I would sell it on there later and use that money to purchase the other implements I need, Snow Pusher, Snow Blower, Finish Mower, etc.

Im still undecided on which ones. Anyways, as far as the base tractor with the hydraulics that I need to be covered for any future implements I decide on; what would you guys recommend? The old 770 is pretty simple controls for the FEL and three point hitch and thats about it. These new tractors are another whole different animal for me. Mid selective, 4th & 5th SVC, were explained to me by the Deere sale guy and what Im read on line. But I just want to make sure Im covered if I want to get a snow blower, mid mount mower, rear hydraulic blade, etc.

If you guys can recommend what hydraulics and controls that would good it would be helpful . I little about myself, I plow about 5,000 feet of easements, x 4 passes. I live out in the country in Southern Michigan where the snow is a little deeper the metro Detroit. Also, I have many, many large pine trees that fall from time to time and need to be taken care of, so forks are a must. My back is shot, so that's another reason to go to the cab and air seat. Also, getting implements on and off aint getting any easier. Sorry for the long post but this is a BIG event in my humble life. Thanks for your future input, Scott (Mods if this is in the wrong area, please move it, thanks!)

When I bought my Kubota L6060HSTC I got 3 remotes and the third function. Third function for grapple use. Two remotes for TnT kit and one for implement hydraulics. I am glad I got them because I plan to get a grader blade with tilt, angle, and offset and of course that requires 3 remotes. Having to get out and adjust things I simply don’t do it and things don’t get done properly, and I am tired of my ditches not being sloped properly. I was looking at the same setup on a JD 4R but ended up going orange. I got the 3 remotes (max Kubota offered but I cannot see needing more) at the time of purchase so I could get it in with the financing.

You’ll love the cab. The JD cabs were so nice. But I love my Kubota cab just as much :) I get so much more work done with it.

Well, I'm counting 5 from what you have just mentioned. T&T and an all HYD rear blade and that,s not counting if you went with gauge wheels, then you would need 6.

Easy enough to do if it actually comes to it. ;)

I have decided just to get the hydraulics on the blade rather than do TNT. The only advantage of the tnt would be for my box blade but I don’t see as much of a need to angle it versus the grader blade. I have a backhoe on mine so the subframe won’t let the Kubota tnt kit work. Fit Rite said they could make one that would work but the tolerances for error are slim as I have already found using my hitch with my cat2 blade caused the adjustment box on the lift link to hit the power beyond hose and damage it. I like the idea of having an offset on the blade as well because it would keep me safe away from the ditch along my driveway.

I figured with some of the multipliers they sell it would be possible to get additional remotes now at a fairly reasonable cost.

Get every SCV that they offer and you will still not have enough. 1&2 for the loader. 3rd SCV for your loader for both grapple and or snow blade. You can get by with just the 4th & 5th SCVs on the back, but in reality you will end up short. But that's at the limit for that tractor, so not really any other factory options. Depending on what all you do for the hyd blade, but with the blade fully optioned out and a top & tilt set (very highly recommended for grading purposes) you need 6 sets of outlets just at the rear of the tractor. That's not counting the 3 needed for the loader.

PS, you really need to get a grapple along with the forks. ;)

First, let me say that I don't know as much about the baby Deeres as I do about the farm tractors. My point of reference is in dealing with the larger tractors. But, I'll attempt to address your questions as best I can.
It will usually make a difference if you're ordering a tractor, or just buying what's on the lot.
Aux. hydraulics are typically more expensive to add on, than to order it that way.
As Jenkins explained, third function on the loader valve is great for a grapple. Might be handy for a plow too. Don't know. But for me, 3rd function was a must on my new tractor.
I have 2 SCV's on all my tractors. (except the old Ford) I've never owned a piece of equipment that required any more than that. But that's just me.

You mentioned your back a couple times. The deluxe air ride seat is absolutely wonderful! I had no idea that it would make that much difference when I bought the 5085M. If it weren't so expensive, I'd put it on my other cab tractors.
Still on the bad back subject, have you considered a 4 or 5 Series? Tractors are no different than any other wheeled vehicle. Wheelbase, track, tire size, and weight will all affect the ride. Just something to consider.

Why don't you bust this up in sections of 2-3 sentences so we can read it. I know a paragraph is supposed to contain a complete thought...per the good Nuns who taught me in Parochial School. But when somebody is trying to follow along with problem requiring thought and an answer, it helps to help if you can read it. Wink.

You do that and I'll join in the helping hand.
