Here in the Piedmont of Georgia we are in a sever drought again and my lake is 8 inches down and the spring has stopped for only the 2 nd time in over 40 yrs.

We just had 2 days of a constant rain..in my area we got 2 inches. total

I just wanted to give the Texas folks a little competition...

It appears that some areas get plenty of rain and others not. Here in the Piedmont of NC, our creek was dry for almost 2 months until about 2 weeks ago when we received 3 days of good rainfall and one of those days we received 2 inches in 4 hours. The creek was up near the top of the far bank then. My neighbors told me that Penson Creek hardly ever dries up, and that this year's rainfall was the second least amount in years. It was really dry 16 years ago and then again about 7 years ago. The Counties west of us have received plenty of rain in the past several months while we only had hit and miss showers here in my part of Caswell County.Good news now though. I got back from visiting my kinfolk in Tennessee this past Sunday, and we have received substantial rainfall the past three days. Here's hoping that your area gets their water table level increased also. If I am not mistaken, my friends in Lavona Georgia told me that it was very dry in their area two or three years ago too. Good Luck. By the way, I have ascertained by your posts that you are a Good Man and that all indications lead me to believe that the both of us were raised in similar ways. Here's wishing that everyone has a Happy Day.:)

Well thank you Creekbend for that very kind comment..I have noticed that you always go out of your way to be courteous and considerate - I'll bet our upbringings were indeed very similiar..

I worry about our wells and the lake with the fish and the trees..You know what I mean, this drought is tough and I know the guys and gals in Texas are even worse...I sure hope the weather pattern changes...You have a great day as well..:)

Don't even try it! My lake dosen't have 8" left in it. If I got a 2" rain, I'm afraid all the extra leather on my cows would skrink up and choke them to death.

I hear ya ! back in the late 80's early 90's we had a sever drought that persisted for several yrs. , ruined my pastures, no hay to be had...I had to sell all my cows..We got back in and bought more cattle a year or so later when we finally got rain...but now it is bad again...we had a break last year but for years before that we have been in a perpetual drought...Yours has got to be worse from what I hear from you folks...God Bless..

We certainly wish you luck, and hope your drought doesn't get as bad as a lot of Texas. At least our rains the last couple of days has sure made the grass in my yard perk up. So I'll hope the farmers and ranchers in the area are helped by it.

I'm sorry to hear about the drought down there...We have the opposite problem. It's never been wetter here...
