I purchased a new TC 40 A on Monday from a dealer in Waco, TX. It has 4WD, a 16la, R4's, and that's about it. I called about a price in a trader type paper and by golly, they sold me a tractor for that price. Not only did I get a fabulous price, but the dealer has 30 mobile mechanics to send out if warrenty work is needed. That is what really set the deal.
It has a lot more controls than I'm used to with the shuttle, 4WD, range and loader controls, but I'll adjust. I used the loader a little this weekend, but I had a bulldozer out and was doing other work. I think I have 5 hours on it so far. My main purpose for it was to mow, and the grass isn't growing much yet.
I have a coupla questions. I did hear a clunk twice in the left front axle while I was using the loader. Should I be concerned about this? It also seemed to stay to the high side of the middle of the normal range on the engine temp guage. Is that normal too? Anything I should watch for with this machine??
I sure like those lights. They light up the night. I may do some mowing at night so it is a little cooler. I really don't need to feed the skin cancer anyway. I'd like a canopy, but I'm afraid I'd rip it off at some point. Lots of trees on my place.
Thanks to those of you who steered me towards NH. I had never given them a look. I look forward to putting some time on the tractor. MP
