I just ordered my xr4046Hc today with backhoe and the 12 and 16" bucket. I should be getting it in about a week. I am like a kid in a candy store.
Looks like the new model XU5065 CPS - is a cab w/power shuttle. 65hp/53.4pto. Looks like a nice tractor. If the XU series came with Hydrostat, I'd have a hard time keeping my R4047

That looks like a nice tractor, and a good size, not too "large" as in frame size. Any idea what the msrp is for these?

Dave, how wide is your P7030? What loader does it have? That sounds like a nice setup as well, how about the msrp on that tractor?

Ok, quick question, is the EZ-automated manual transmission just a funny name for a power shuttle? As in R4047EZ.

I have the wheels set at the widest and it's 90". The loader is the LL7100 and the MSRP is around 45K.

more or less from the sounds of it. Sounds pretty gimmicky though; from the posts here from the guys that have them, you press the button when you plan to change direction, and you have to wait for it to activate. At that point is just rather use the clutch!

Actually there is no button to press when changing direction.. just move the shuttle lever forward or reverse and the auto clutch works on it own. There is a button on the shifter that electrically activates the clutch if you prefer not to use the pedal.

OK, I must have misunderstood you before then... So you press the button on the shifter to put it into "EZ" mode, then you move the shuttle shifter like normal, only you don't use the clutch? I thought I remember you (or someone?) say that it pauses and decides whether or not it will actually shift without the clutch ?? Something about it beeps ?

The button on the shifter only acts as another way to engage the clutch. Going from forward into reverse or vice versa is done without clutching at all. Your speed must be at or below a certain point when you move the shuttle lever. If your moving too fast, you will hear a beep and it wont change gears (forward or reverse) until a lower spped is achieved. If I am moving too fast and I get the beep.. I just tap the brake to slow down a bit, then it shifts. Hope this clarifies.

Sounds like just a smart shuttle with a button clutch in addition to a foot clutch.

Does anyone know if the Factory Cab is only available on the XR and up models? I'm interested in a cab with around 45hp.

Apparently there is an aftermarket cab you can get for the New Holland boomer series, the twin of our tractor. It runs something like $3500. At least, that's what I was told from a new Holland dealer about 10 months ago. Otherwise, no, you have to step up to the new XR series if you want a cab, and want to stay in the compact line.

Yes they are. The XR series have 2 different levels. The XR 3000 series have cabs and are 36.5 HP (37 hp) and the XR 4000 series have a 40 HP and 46 HP option. The cabs are a very nice operator friendly zone. I have the XR4046C on my lot right now and its a nice smooth running unit!

Thanks for the information. $3500 doesn't seem like to bad a deal as I think going from a non cab to a cab probably increases the price by more than $3500. My mom has a NH T2320 w/supersteer and I was looking for something compareable to it.

Be advised. .. that's what I was told, but I have never verified it. Most sites only listed cabs for the Shibaura New Hollands (TC40, Boomer 3040, etc) and not the LS built ones.

What did u pay? My dealer quoted me $28,500.

Crazy to think that I paid nearly $7k less for my R4047 (no cab tho) this Spring!

Factory cabs usually add about $5000 to the price and aftermarket cost more if you add in all the extras that come on factory cabs like HVAC, mirrors, stereo, extra lights, front and rear windshield wipers and washers. The 3500 for aftermarket is just a cab, at least that was what I found when I compared one. After adding in heat and air conditioning and all the other goodies it was about $7500 and still didn't include installation which would easily be another thousand.

IF you want a cab on your tractor it is cheaper to trade your present tractor in for one with a cab or get it factory if buying new. Aftermarkets are usually not to the quality of factory cabs and cost much more unless you are satisfied with something to just keep the rain and snow off
