I recently purchase a grey market tractor with a brushhog. The brand appears to be "General". has onyone heard of this brand? I have no owner manual, how can I determine what it is rated for? Also, I'm having a hard time lining it up to hook up to my 3-point hitch. Seems like it should be way easier than it is. What are the secrets?

Bushogs are not hard. have you ever used a tractor before? Once you get used to it your faster everytime. Do you have the correct length toplink?

I don't know much about tractors. The bushog was attached when I got the tractor and I removed it. The trouble I am having is lining up the tractors two points with the bushog. It seems I can't slide the pin in if it is out of alignment by even a small amount. Should I attach the third point first or last?

Dont know anythig about the General brand bushhog, sorry cant help ya on that one. As far as the hook up issues I always unhook on level ground so when I go to hook back up I square up with my two points and able to get off the tractor with the loader off the ground and no brakes set. If the tractor needs to go forward or backwards a little i just grab a clete on the rear tire and push or pull while pushing the arm on the pin. The third is the last arm I hook up(after PTO shaft) then set it where I want it.

Thanks, that is helpful. I think I've figured out that the brushog is bent where the bolts go throug to hook it up. It'll just take some elbow grease to hook it up.

A good tool to have on hand is a heavy duty digging bar to use as a lever to wedge align the implement to the tractor's 3-PT hitch.
Set your 3-pt lower than the implement's pins and you should be able to then lift the arms in place and slide them on one at a time.
