GC2600 tachometer/squealing noise

Ordered one today. Shipping was $15, so I went that route instead of going to the dealer. Dealer is a 3 hour round trip.

I got the new part yesterday. Just put it in now. Not sure how this will change anything, as it’s just a direct drive piece. Same as the one that came out. We’ll see once it gets cold again.

I'd also be interested in the results. If it's an upgraded part and the cost is reasonable I'd fix mine. When this first happened I was told I would need a complete new tachometer. When I was given the cost, I told the parts guy, AGCO could put it where the sun don't shine.

Maybe I’ll go out and fire it up tomorrow. Supposed to be 19 degrees. If it’s going to make the noise, it will.

Well, it was 19 today. Felt colder than that. Fired it up and idled 5 minutes. Then up to 1650 for a few minutes, then back to idle for a few. 10 minutes in total and no noise! was definitely colder today than the last time when it made the noise and before I changed that part. The new piece had a lot of grease in it, which had to lube everything good. A very thin grease.

I notice mine mostly below 20 when its also been humid (snow/etc) out, dry air not so much. please update as you go, thanks.

Had to clear the driveway out today. 10 F outside. Blew out driveway with no squealing at all. So far so good with this new part.
