GC2310 TLB vs bx23 new guy need help

Hmmm, Wonder if I could maybe steer this thread back toward the original question. Without discussin' dealers & ethics, has anybody out there used both the GC2310 and the BX23?

Now somebody above mentioned trying blue or green tractors instead. Here's the thing: the 2310 & the 23 are the only tractors in their class with proprietary backhoes. Just like my BX2200, the Hollands, Deeres, & Cadets in the same class only take aftermarket 3ph PTO driven backhoes. Now there's a rumor goin' around that Woods is workin' on a sub-frame attached backhoe for all these units, but for over a year they've been sayin' they're 60-90 days from releasin' it.

I'm thinkin' 'bout tradin' my BX220 for something with a backhoe. Deere, Holland, & Cadet don't offer a backhoe 'till you're into models 'round a half ton heavier, several horses stronger, & several grand more $$$.

The original ? was whether anyone out there has used the 2310 and the 23. These are the only 2 with the hoe & it'd be nice to hear from anyone who'se used a bh on both'uv 'um.

The new Cub Cadet 5000 series is a sub-compact just like the BX and the GC and it also has a backhoe available as an option. You might want to check that one out too.

/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Interesting... When I check the overview web page for the 5000 series, it does show a photo of a backhoe. When I go to the linked pages for each individual tractor in the 5000 series and click on the "attachments" link, however, backhoes are not listed among the other various attachments for any of the three tractors. I'll have to e-mail them or contact a dealer.

Hey CAG,

You need to widen your dealer search a bit. Find a good one that is an ag dealer also, they are used to demos up here. Without spending at least 3 hours or more in the seat at a time you might make a big mistake I've found over the years with tractors. Just driving around the dealer's lot does not really tell you much about the tractor if you think you like it!!

Facing the same dilemma. Caught the wife trying to "surprise" me for fathers day. Have been "wanting" a BX 22 for a couple of years. Was out on a Sunday drive and stopped by a Massey dealer to check out a 2310. Happened to catch a $500 charge on a statement and come to find out it was to be delivered this Sat. Thanks hun! Nice thought, not sure I want or NEED the payment book that goes with this tractor, but I could really use it. That being said, I see very little difference between the two. Only point of difference I could get anyone to make was that on a hill a BX23 and a GC2310 side by side, going up a hill in high, the Massey had hydrostatic drive lock up (failed to complete the hill climb) and had to be backed down and driven up in low. Claimed the BX had a better matched tranny/engine combo since Kubota builds them to "work with each other"
Not sure if this is hype, but have to make this decision by Friday to decide if i let the 2310 stay for the weekend!
Quotes not including tax but including a 54" mulching deck on both
BX23 $17525.00
GC2310 $18500.00

It's been mentioned that the GC 3 point is a better arrangement than the BX. Can someone explain this? The reason I ask is because my brother-in-law is considering these same units, and would like to use some of the implements I have (like my back blade) on the 3 point. Is this going to be an issue if he buys the BX. Is it an issue for the GC?

On the BX you have to remove the 3-point arms(not a huge deal in itself) but with the GC you do not have to remove the arms, the arms fold up out of the way. Much nicer in my opinion.
