What's up all, I got a used 2006 gc2310 about a year ago and it always started fine but we had a few cold mornings and I think my glow plugs are not working . Should I be turning the key to the left? When I do there is no noice or lights, I am thinking a light should light up and go out when it is ready to start? Thx

?? Mine's a 2007, the key is turned to the left (and held for the desired time) for glow plugs, then to the right to start.... but I also have no glow plug indicator light.

I have a 2004 GC2310, my key turns to the left (counter clockwise) for the glow plug position, and I am told the glow plugs stay on as long as the key is held in this position. I had to go 40 sec. to start the tractor.

This season I had a problem where it wouldn't start in the cold temperatures so I had a professional come to diagnose the problem. He told me the problem was the glow plugs, so he replaced them and said it needed a new relay since the new glow plugs were higher amperage. I had sticker shock with the price of parts-3 glow plugs for $210 and the relay was $180, do these part prices sound correct?

How many hours on the machine?

I can tell you, no one I know of on TBN, has ever experienced a single glow plug failure on a GC, let alone all of them.

Not saying it isn't possible. But, you would be the first one. So, I am not too sure.

40 seconds would not be unusual if it is very cold.

The machine only has about 650 hrs on it.

Any idea where the relay would be located? I was looking around the machine for new parts but didn't see any new electrical components.

My guess is under the dash.

You should be able to listen for it, when you turn on the glow plugs.

Thanks Ray! I will take a look there.

I have seen glow plug failures, only twice, but it does happen. However, I'm pretty sure that glow plug relay is no where near $180. 3 glow plugs would be expensive, probably not $210 either though. Did he charge dealer pricing? sounds like he marked them up too? Have you changed your battery ever?
