GC2310 attachment advice

I will soon be in the market for a box blade and a rotory mower to team up with my GC2310. If anyone can give insight to what they have found to be either a good or bad match for the machine I'd appreciate it. Thanks....DD

I bought the mf 48" tiller, and it works great. Its not a sub compact attachment, its a full size. I also ordered a rear grader blade. It will be in on Monday. Its also a mf 5', they were both recommended from my dealer. The mold board height is 14". I do believe that is a full size also.

The consensus seems to be you can use full size cat 1 implements. Although sometimes you need to move the pins on the lower attachment point of the implement to the inside of the mounts. This is to allow for the narrow space between the rear tires. The other possible difficulty is lifting height, this is also not what is usually found on a cat 1 tractor. I believe the height is a concern occasionally with items like a post hole digger.
This is the reason I like the sub compact specific implements, they take these into consideration as well as weight, which is also a concern.

I am not sure I would want a 5' grader box. Unless your just moving gravel, or loose dirt. I have a 4' and for grading firm ground, it is about all my 2310 can handle.

I have a full size King Kutter box blade, but wish I would have went with the XB series. I went with the XB rear blade and it does ok, but I can not get all of the play out of my trunbuckles for the lift arms, as I believe the spacing on the blade is for a Cat 0 hitch. If I get any other implements, I will go with MF

I have 4 ft. Bush hog box blade and it works great, think I could have donea 5 ft, but I got a good deal on the 4 ft. I also have a 4 ft rotary cutter and it works great, no problems there, the little red MF'er has plenty of power to run it.

I also have the 4' Bush Hog box blade. When you attach you BB, do you adjust the turnbuckles on the lower arms of your 3 point so it pulls them inward, outward, or do you leave play on the box blade mount? I've been currious on what is correct.

I adjust out most of the side to side play by tightening the turnbuckles.

I also adjust the turnbuckles so there isn't much side to side movement. I leave a little just for a little buffer if I find something hard.

My dealer just delivered my new rear grader blade, in the middle of my driveway. So I must move it, (darn) But when I hooked it up I found that the lift height is an issue. It only raised it about 3 1/2 inches. I think this is a real problem. I looked on Massey's web sight and they recommend this Rb for a gc2310. I cant believe that they didn't considered this. I did try to adjust the top link to get more height, but then the angle is really off. I measured the height of the lower pins when the blade is level and they are 19". I measured the lift arms when all the way up and they were at 21" high. I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow to see what he has to say, but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I stopped at the dealers today, because of the lift height on the rear grader blade they sold me. It is a new model and they haven't sold that many. They also said they haven't had any problems in the past. So we tried to figure out why it will not raise very high. We didn't find out why, but found a fix, and thats why I wanted to post the outcome. After looking at the new units sitting on the lot, not the new gc24?? or gc26?? but gc2310 there were no changes. The owner looked at the part list for the new gc models and they showed that the fixed side lift linkage has two holes in it for different lifting heights. the adjustable one did not have the second hole. So I came home and put a hole in it, and just adjusted the other one to level the blade. Now I have about 13" clearance. I am max out on lift now, because I only have about 1/4 clearance in between the frame for the backhoe and the lift arms. If anyone wants pictures let me know.

Here are some pics of the modification done to the lift arm
1. rear blade set up normal its about 5" high
2. Is the pin in the bottom that was factory drilled
3. Is about 13 1/2" high using the hole I put in.

The other lift rod I didnt due anything to it except for adjusted to keep the blade level

I have a Rankin box scraper for my 2300 and it works very well. If the box gets too full it slows down a bit but it still pulls along okay. If the scarifiers dig down too deep then it's too much for the tractor to pull and you have to raise it a little to free it up. I scraped about 300 feet of a really rough dirt driveway with lot of potholes in less than an hour with it.
