Are you running winter blend diesel? I know my stations switched about 3 weeks ago and I made sure to run her almost empty and refill.

Just for kicks is your air filter and screen below steering wheel clean?

Turn you fuel off open fuel filter turn on fuel, does fuel flow?

Just some thoughts to help you trouble shoot.

It seems like fuel is restricted because it starts but won't stay running and when you throttle it up it dies faster. Pinched fuel line, fuel filter, fuel shuttoff are the easy things to check.

Looks new is it under warranty... if so just call a dealer. If it were a safety interlock it wouldn't even start.

Sorry.

Please note, it is starting. The best way to describe your problem is, it won't keep running.

It is most likely a fuel issue.

You can test it by opening the hood, open the air cleaner, and spray some WD-40 in to the intake when it tries to quit running. If you can keep it running on the WD-40, but it stop as soon as you quit spraying, it's a fuel problem.

You may have gelled fuel. Get some Power Service 911, and add it to the fuel tank. (Everyone should keep a bottle of this on hand).

You can also put an electric heater under the tractor, and a trap over the top of the tractor to warm it up.

Winter starting requires more glow plug time. What you are using is fine in warm weather. But, when it's cold, you need to them more time to heat up. However, that's not your problem here.

Hope you get it worked out.

i keep the the tractor plugged in for the winter. air filter is clean and so are the connecting houses. tractor did start up on my garage just fine and it actually stalled when i had it running on the bottom of my property while i was filing up my small utility trailer with wood and now its stuck their. I ran a really long extension cord and hooked up the block heater again and put a battery tender on it. tried starting it today with no luck. Illl go get some some power service 911 and try the wd-40.

is thier a fuel shutoff near the filter, i dont remember if i clamped the house when i changed the filter out but ill got check.. Fuel is good maybe 1 month ago i filled it up, I run the tractor every week as i use it to get my wood.

I have to agree with ray66v. Sounds like your gelling. May need a winter blend fuel and a fuel supplement. Howes and power service are two supplements that I really like. I had my old allis Chalmers give me a fit the other day, acting just like yours. Put a heat lamp on it fixing in place by the fuel lines. Put a tarp over to trap the heat where I needed it. Then headed to town to get a new fuel filter. Got home put the New fuel filter on (fill fuel filter with fresh fuel before installing) bled system and it's a go. Put a little more power service in fuel tank and problem solved. If your gelled, and it sounds like you might be, your probably going to need a new fuel filter. Very rarely can your gell up and get by without replacing the fuel system.

Shutoff is near the filter, you can’t miss it. Agree with everyone it’s fuel. I am a big believer in winter blend others will use an additive and regular diesel. Both would most likely prevent your problem. Honestly if I were you right now I’d tow it to the heated garage, let it sit overnight, replace the fuel filter and either get the 911 stuff or winter blend and fill her up.

If it turns out to be fuel, I would try to find a better supplier.

If there is an agricultural fuel supplier near you, talk to them.

I get a quality product from my local guys, and I never need to add anything.

If not, you will need to choose a fuel additive, and take care of it yourself.

Gas station fuel is a crap shoot.

Ok well fuel filter is out of the question for now unless I have a extra and ill check when I get back home.

The last time it wouldn't start it was summer time tho. I posted videos of it on here.

I appreciate all the help and see what it is tomorrow if I'm not stumbling in the morning :).

Like ray66v said earlier it starts, it just won't stay running. It acts sort of like mine does if I get off the seat while it's running and the safety switch shuts it off. Wonder if it could be something like the interlock switch acting up?

I own both a GC2610 and a 2016 GC1720. Yes, during winter cold the fuel Gels up including Winter Diesel if you live where it goes below zero like me.

In winter I add Diesel Gel fighting additive to my tank, with full tank I should say. I also will use Diesel 911 before starting it up in an hour or two. I no longer waste my time believing the Gas Stations crappy fuel is winterized. So including what I had just stated I "proactively" remove the fuel filter after a below zero night and before starting. I wipe it with paper towels, use a wooden toothpick to clean the ribs of the Gel in the filter (even with additives it happens). I fill the plastic fuel filter cover with the same filter placed inside 50% filled with Diesel 911 and 50% from the Diesel when reopening the petcock. WELCOME TO DIESEL ****.....Lol Joking" Diesel Gel will happen starting at 17 degrees Fahrenheit & below...... (Remember, ANY storage containers even 55 gallon drums of Diesel exposed to those cold temperatures need to having Anti-Gel additives mixed in or it will happen when you refuel with crappy stored Diesel.)

Above post is assuming your familiar with your fuel filter location. If not, use cardboard lay it down to keep dry. WITH ENGINE OFF, lay under Drivers side and look for a small about 5 ounce size almost clear plastic cap that has a grey metal ring at the top that is "Hand" tightened. Before touching it, on the side of the fuel unit you are looking at there is a metal petcock. Down position is for fuel and up sideways is fuel line shut off. Moves easily in one direction only...do not force it to go where it does not want to go! Unscrew the metal ring and wiggle off the plastic cover. It has an "O" Ring on it so do not damage it. If Gel has taken over the Filter may stay on and not slide off with the cover. Either way you will see the Diesel Fuel Gel we're all talking about. look up into the openings where the top of the filter was touching. If Gel is clogging two holes up there use whatever "CLEAN" utensil or toll you have to clean them out. Now take the fuel filter and cover with you inside Garage or if you can stand the smell of Diesel in the House. Use the wooden toothpick lightly to clean the Gel out from the Ribs of the filter, wipe out the inside of the cover. I do not recommend any ignition sources used near fuels. But yes, I have head from people using from a distance a Hair Dryer on Low to melt the Gel on the filter but I found there is no need to do so. Yes, Diesel is much safer than Gas but it is not a good practice to do or even a safe one at that.....Now go out with fuel filter back in cover "Hole Up", ensure metal ring is slipped back over it, get back under. Take the time to slide the cover "Slowly aligned with the filter hole" until the "O" Ring seats. Then screw on Metal Ring "Hand Tightened" turn petcock back down to fuel position. (Remember, I already own some Diesel 911 so I add it 50% in the cover before I seat the "O" Ring. Now it is time to start, Turn Key where you hear the fuel injector noise and yellow Glow Plugs noise wait 15 seconds. Turn that bad boy on, idle at low RPM until engine is warm before cranking it higher. (Some people do not know better and they tear up there Diesel Engines). If engine requires a higher throttle for start up, immediately take the RPM's down once the engine starts....I have a 2630 Snow Thrower on mine during the Winter cause I have a LONG gravel driveway out here in the country....BTW, Any Fuel issue that is not mechanical pump etc... is not covered by a new Tractor warranty and Dealers are expensive!!!!

If you have a can of brake cleaner, perhaps you may be able to "clean" the fuel filter enough to get it working for now.

Spray it down real good, and let it sit for a while after you clean it, for the solvent in the brake cleaner to evaporate.

If you've had this problem before, the fuel filter would be the first thing you want to replace.

Ooklaa, I have one here that I could send to you... just don't know if you'd get it any faster than finding one locally... assuming it's the same filter used on 2300s.

Ditto on the tarp idea- I've found that, given 5-6 hours, my block heater will heat up the whole engine area nicely if I cover the hood/engine area with a blanket, blocking as much of the vent areas as I can.

I had a suspected fuel gelling problem last winter. I had the block heater on for a couple hours, and went to start it up, acted exactly how your machine did. Started up cleanly, and died before I could climb on the seat. I always keep a couple filters on hand because I had gotten a bad batch a fuel a couple years ago, turned that nice pink filter black in a couple tanks.

If you can't get to the dealer, I believe WIX 33262 is a alternative fuel filter, but confirm that with someone else before you buy!

I agree with the fuel gelling up I always add power service diesel additive, and have a jug of their 911 available, other question I have is on my 2610 the manual states to hold the glow plugs on for 17 seconds before starting, not sure if that will help.

Doesn't take but a minute or two to check the under seat fuel shutoff switch. I always try to eliminate the simple stuff first.

Havent been able to touch the tractor since my last post. I'm going to try to tow it up to my driveway and put it in my garage on my next day off. The thing the sucks tho is my dam back hoe has settled and so has my loader and i dont know how the help to get it up in order to move the tractor. I called dealer today amd yesterday and closed so I assume they be open tomorrow and ill give them a ring.
Ill go put a nice blanket on it to see it it will warm if up a lil also.

/ Gc1720 wont start again #18
for the little bit of time it ran on the video, might be enough time to raise the hoe. not sure.

/ Gc1720 wont start again #19
Although not an ideal solution, you may be able hold the levers in position while turning it over and let the starter motor pump the hydro. If it's out in the cold, you're only option may be a generator and a salamander jet heater.

There is this thread currently in another section which is applicable to this one. It starts up as how to get the tractor started in cold weather, then someone chimes in with a how to keep it running.....
