Hey everyone,

I would like to get a second set of wheels and tires. I have the R4-and while they've been great so far for everthing I've needed, I think a set of turf tires for mowing the grass would be safer for my lawn. I have some soft soil areas around my property and until I properly drain tile the whole lot, I've gotta deal with it.

What rim size(s) would work with the GC1700 series? Am I stuck with factory wheels??

Thanks!

I think the best thing to do is measure the bolt-hole patterns; it might be possible to find some after-market wheels that would fit, but be advised that the tires themselves need to be the same sizes as the originals due to the way the transmission & gearing is set up on these SCUTs (approx. 10% faster rpm --called a "lead"-- on fronts when in 4WD).

Wheels would be listed something like diameter followed by center-to-center distance. I know factory wheels & tires from M-F are quite expensive; I had thought to purchase some R4s (I have turfs) but have since determined that turfs are the best for me, so I quit looking. Good luck and let us know if you find any.

EDIT: I should say those mounting size suggestions above... after determining the wheels' correct OA diameters and widths, of course....

I never bought any, but looked into this when my tractor was new. Kabota BX tires/wheels were the same at about 1/2 of the price. Haven't actually tried to install them.
