The mods will probably work, but with the extent of this problem..............I personally think Massey will have a recall and redesign the bracket/lever assembly.i'm leaning toward either tacking a cone style frost plug on the cable mount lever at the fuel pump, to disperse the contact pressure, or splicing a two or three inch piece of pipe into the hose where contact occurs, or both. a coating of bed liner or something similar on the frost plug would prevent rattling.
i think once you start going to larger diameter in a situation like that, you compound the problem. going to smaller diameter, by using a piece of pipe, would serve to move the hose over just a little bit and give some more room without changing anything else.
i think i'll go with the pipe mod first, then see what happens.![]()
Wire ties/extra hose/metal pipe............will only last so long, IMHO
