I have a 2007 850D that's acting up. I changed the fuel filter and everything went south after that. It will run for a few secs or mins, then throttle down and shake, or quit running. The fuel bowl is full. Any suggestions on a bleeding procedure? I'm gonna be bleeding if I don't get this thing going. I just bought it , and my wife is ill that it isn't performing. I don't think I'm gonna be performing if I don't get it running!
Help!'

Not a diesel mechanic, but the procedure is to bleed the injectors when something like this happens.
You have introduced air into the system I bet and it needs to be bleed.
If the filter is correctly installed and you can bleed that or make sure there is a full bowl of fuel then that should be good.
Then go to the injectors at the top of the head, fuel line from fuel filter goes to injector pump then lines from injector pump go to the head, loosen the large nut, crank the engine until just fuel comes out. Do this for each injector. Loosen nut, crank engine over, watch for fuel flow with no air. Do one at a time and tighten down after bleeding, then try starting.
Good luck.

if it will help you out when i bleed my injectors on my cummins i crack open the last injector and the first injector. there is no need to bleed all of them but then again how many do you have just two or three right if so i would open the last one and that should be good.

i'm having the same trouble with my gator. Only difference is it started to do this before changing filter. I thought by changing filter would fix it and only got worse. I bleed the injectors and still same trouble. Looks like maybe the pump??? Ill keep on looking for more help.

Have you checked to make sure the tank isn't vacuum locked? Try loosening the fuel tank filler cap, then bleed the air out of the injectors with the cap loose. If it runs OK, the problem is in the tank venting.
