MF 165 - glass filter directly under tank on port side- looks like gas leaking out of pit-cock toggle on top of glass assembly (there is a 7/16 nut between pitcock and glass....tightened alittle, but didn't slow leak). Leaks when open or closed.

I don't think I have a oring above glass....unless it's stuck up there....I don't think thats where it's leaking.

Problem #2- Carb on starboard side always wet with gas. no drips. NOT coming from problem #1

(BTW- I need to screw with my choke lever sometimes hot or cold. Not sure if this is related or relavent)

You need to get that to a dealer immediately if it's a MF 165 Diesel tractor leaking gas.

I didn't say diesel.....I wouldn't have a carb or choke! LOL

..........just a leaky petcock shut-off :(

Not a MF guy.. but those fuel valves are SUPER easy to repalce and usually under 50 $.. many times it's just packing or an oring in the valv ethat needs replacing.

as for prob 2 not being related to prob 1, I think you are off base. if the valve leaks externally..it likely leaks internally too.. meaning the carb could be overfilling if it also has a bad flaot valve.

you need to get this fixed before you hydrolock that engine when you dump your load of gas into the crankcase.

Is this the kind of sediment bowl with a bail under it with a threaded knob to tighten the bowl up to the housing/shutoff? If so, you certainly have a gasket, maybe not an O-ring, where the glass mates to the housing. That's a very common leak site. Maybe a mirror and good light will show you something.
