Gosh, I want to play, and not even sure what side of the argument I am on :)

Both kind of.

One side of the argument is basicly saying that I cannot make something with the electricity without it costing me more then it is making.

That "cost" would be proportionally higher fuel consumption when I was generating the electricity to do the seperation.

So here is the off the wall question.

Do we loose MPG when we run electric devices?

So instead of on the back of Wal-mart Trucks where it says, Lights are on for Safety, will we have trucks running down the road with bumper stickers that say "lights are off to save energy"?

I would think, and would love to see real #s I could believe developed over a long period of time and removing the "human" element from the test that there is some basis for further research, I believe that the Alternator is probably generating energy a bit more efficiently then the gas engine is and that is where the savings can be found.

I also think that so many of the "tests" etc. that you see the people swearing by their 10% or whatever increase could largely be attributed to driving habits or awareness that they are striving to maximize fuel mileage.

Interesting debate though.

Moss; this is not where we do the test. This is where we decide on who should be on the committee to select the committee that will select the test site!:D :D

Has anyone at all read the entire website from the guy that is giving his plans away for free? He wants no money. He gives the design, steps to build it and a parts list away for free. Apparently, he wants nothing in return.

You CAN buy the kit from him if you wish, but you can make it yourself, too.

It is interesting stuff. I just don't want to be the test bunny. :)

I've put my smack device plans on hold until I am bored.
Currently I am putting the finishing touches on a plan to turn two kegs of beer into water, sort of.

Exactly right. I think that this (in his case at least) rules out that its a scam or hoax. Of course he could still be wrong or just plain crazy but at least he's not trying to fleece anyone. What intrigues me about this is that its so easily tested if you have the inclination to do so, unlike the infamous 'Joe Cell' which I do think is BS.

How big are the bottles?:D

And what is in 'em? :D:D

Two bottles of Chimay will be more than enough for most people. Key word is more. :D

Only 12oz. bottles. Sam Adams Pale Ale is my preference. Only real problem I have is finding it. The nearest place that I know WILL have some on the shelf is some 14 miles away. :( Just had one a little while ago, first in about 3 weeks. :D

What only 14 miles for that? That is one-tenth of my daily commute.

:) Go get them! :)

WOW. Our local grocery store has a decent selection of beer and Sam Adams is always on the shelf. My favorite at the moment is a variety 12 pack of Sam Adams that has been selling for $13ish. Fosters 12 packs are $10. Buying alot of Fosters. :D The Sam Adams is a good price. Usually they around $15 a 12 pack.

A food Coop opened in town a few years ago and they have a decent beer selection including the Chimay I mentioned. First place I have ever seen Chimay. Very good but very potent, its about 10% alchohol. :D Chimay is made by Trappist Monks. I think I know why the monks are happy. :D Or at least feeling no pain.

The Coop also has some really good Cider, not the hopped up sugary stuff that is in most store shelves. Very good stuff. :D

I'll think of you tonight when I'm having an Adams. :D

I guess a bottle or two to ponder this new technology.
Eventually some human methane will come along and factor into this entire thinking.. more bottles.. more methane.... methane burns... hmmmm but drinking and driving is really a bad idea so back to the hydrogen I guess.

I'd love to see this water thing work but I've been reading about this for some time also and remain sceptical. Every time I see someone getting near to a success a thread ends. I've looked around the web quite a bit...

I think that good ole american ingenuity is not totally dead but it is tough to wade through all the b.s. to see something worth trying out.

This is a thread to watch... for now back to the bottle once I get home...

Alas, this is New Jersey. You can't buy wine or beer in a grocery store, only in state licensed liquor stores. Living about 5 miles from both an Army & USAF base (Dix & McGuire) we have many liquor stores in the area. There's even an expensive, but well stocked one, just a mile up the road from me. They sell every variety of Sam Adams EXCEPT the Pale Ale! That, unfortunately, seems to be a recurring theme. Then the only other place I know to get the Pale Ale usually only has it refrigerated (if they have it at all). They are a little further than the store that normally does have it (unrefrigerated), but easier to get to. For all this "complaining" though, it's really not that much of an issue. Between my brother & I, we might go through 2, maybe 3, 6-packs a year. It's just nice to show up at my GF's place in Arkansas once a year with 2 or 3 cases, & as you know letting cold beer warm & then re-cooling it isn't conducive to good taste.

My apologies to those wanting to read about making gas from water. I'll stop the hijack now.
