How many of you have started the gardens for this year?

I've gotten an acre of Phacelia planted for the bees. Another 1/4 acre will be sweet corn, pumpkins, and assorted vegetables for consumption and sale.

Starting 150 plants indoors this coming week!

I have potatoes, broccoli, cabbage and celery planted. It's so wet here not sure what will survive.

Dear god, that is a nice sized garden, how do you prevent the four legged friends from taking their large share?

Electric fence. Or they will eat 90% of the corn

Yeah, Jstpssng beat me to it. Gonna wait for the snow to melt first. :ROFLMAO: Maybe mid-May to plant spinach, peas, lettuce, carrots, etc. Memorial day-thru-first week in June for anything else.
I have started tomatoes & peppers inside.

Crows are my biggest problem with corn.

Run a string about 6" high alongside each row. It doesn't have to be much, they don't like anything touching their wings.

Just put my tomatoes in starter pots, will be a while before I can move them outside,
Maybe start radishes soon.
I have a micro garden as the big one kept getting overwhelmed with deer.

Thinking of putting in corn, probably just feed the critters, but I will try anyway.
Radishes will go in, maybe next week.

I'm waiting a while also.
Weatherman is predicting a blizzard here tomorrow.

It's 75 here today. I'm going to get some tomatoes and other plants set out tomorrow. I need to be able to get my tractor in the garden and it's still wet right now.

New garden fence, raised beds, and greenhouse this year (documented in a thread here)

Have peas and onions planted in the raised beds so far. Have to fill the rest of them up with dirt before more planting can happen.

Luckily we have lettuce and arugula growing in the greenhouse. Will be interesting to see how this setup works overall.

Beginning of March showed some promising warmer than average temperatures. It got my garden palms itching and I started sprouting early!

Tomato and pepper seeds are started inside, raised beds are cleaned up. Picking up some mushroom soil to add to the beds which are 2-3 years old.

Will plant some peas and lettuce, spread some of our 2 year old straw on the beds and wait a bit for it to warm up.

The average temp has cooled a bit and I have to remind myself that our traditional last frost date is around 15 to 20 May, so still 45 to 50 days out. People in the area often wait till Memorial Day to plant Tomatoes.
