Hello all,

I have an issue with my G6200 hst and need to load it on my trailer to get fixed. Is there a release valve somewhere for the hydro? I can't find anything anywhere. I do not want to winch it on my trailer without releasing that.

Thank you for your help.

Hello all,

The operator's manual (Section 5) for both geared & HST states: IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOW THIS MACHINE. Damage to transmission may result.
Not sure how to read that - does it mean never push the tractor, even a few feet, or don't tow it behind your pickup on the interstate like a trailer? I never could find any kind of release like the little pull/push one that our Craftsman had. Not wanting to ever have to fix that Eaton HST, I have tried to observe the operator manual's advice.

Over the years I have rolled it forward (engine & parking brake off) a few feet with no noticeable problems.

I once had to move it from out of our field to our shop, where I could work on it. I did that by pinning the front axle pivot with wood wedges, securing the steering wheel and towing the tractor, backwards, by lifting the rear wheels off the ground with a boom pole on a larger tractor. Not sure if that was really necessary, but it worked.

For winching it onto a trailer - consider bringing a suitable dolly & floor jack. Get the tractor in position behind the trailer, lift the rear end with the jack & put the dolly under the rear tires or rear frame. With the tires off the ground, you should be able to winch away.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I am seeing. I have looked all over for a release. On both my craftsman's and my John Deere, there is a release so it rolls freely. Was hoping I could find that with this one.
