Have any of you that had this issue had repairs made yet?If so, how did it go, how long did it take to get tractor back? How did they make payments for hauling it in?

Which pistons? Lift or engine? Either way, I can't see how that's possible.

If it was engine pistons they would have to be upside down. ???????????????????

Pistons were installed 180 degrees wrong (not upside down). Affected tractor owner should have received letters. The tractor had to be returned to the factory for repairs. Mine is on the way back form North Carolina factory. EPA issue.

OK, that makes sense. 180 degree off. Most of the diesel pistons I've seen are perfectly flat and symmetrical to the skirt. The only issue I could see with this would be if the lube holes on the wrist pins don't line up if installed wrong.

Supposedly it affects the exhaust. Thus it did not meet EPA exhaust standards. They say it did not damage engine.

Not sure how it could affect the exhaust. Did you notice excessive smoke?

Not really but it is my first diesel. I have a MF135 gas also. There was some ??black exhaust buildup?? on the loader arm near the exhaust.

Yeah, mine does that as well. That is just the nature of a diesel. Hope you get back up and running soon!

My Tractor has been gone for two weeks now. Hope it gets back soon!
I started a thread about this a few weeks ago and it is now gone.

I had posted to that thread, but started this one because I could not find the other one either. Mine was left at the dealer on 7/3/15, and picked up from there on 7/13/15. LS called today and said it left from its factory on the way back yesterday. Not going as fast as they said.

I suppose that there is a hump on top of the pistons to help the exhaust exit better or something.

Mine qualifies for the recall, but I don't have any easy way to get it back to the dealer. Is it worth it to get the recall performed?
I believe it was said that the warrantee would be voided if not done. I would talk to your dealer.

Since I just bought a used 2015 G3033 I am a bit concerned about this. Does anyone know where I can find a list of VIN or serial numbers on the affected engines/tractors?

I know this is an old post but there may be someone who picked up a used tractor that fell through the cracks. Mine was one of those with the piston issue - ran fine but smoked like the devil at low temps (20s) and I'm at 4000'. Anyway, LS sent a team to my dealer (an area distributor too) and did the work - hoping it would solve the smoking problem (it didn't). When they pulled the pistons they found one cylinder wall scored so they replaced the whole engine (happened to have one in stock). I wish I had more than the 80 hours I had on it at the time.
