I am getting my new 2520 in a week or two and I am curious on what type of fuel can guys are using. It sure looks like it is going to be a PITA to pour fuel into the tank out of a can. Any suggestions?

I have a 4110 so can I answer?

I use a yellow 5 gallon plastic Blitz jug, But it's old enough that it does not have all the government imposed EPA crap that makes you spill more...

I have a 2210 so I might not be much help. My fuel cap is in the center of the hood towards the rear, close to the dash. I use one of the newer plastic cans with the "safety" valve. It's junk but I wanted to advise you to protect the hood well. I use a rubber backed bath mat folded in half and rest the can on it. Take the protective cap off the nozzle so it doesn't fall in the tank and then press the valve after the nozzle is inserted into the tank.

I'll just go 2 blocks away to the self-serve off road pump. ;)

I live in a small town (435) in the middle of farm country, so we do have off road fuel at the pump.

I have a 2520, and I use a Type II safety can. The built-in nozzle is good for getting the diesel in the hole. The metal cans are a bit heavier to lift up over the hood, but I don't like poly fuel containers. But it's still real easy to over fill it because you can't see into the top of the tank as you pour. I tend to not fill it up completely, and just call it good enough.

Thats what I was thinking would be best. I hate those poly fuel containers for any number of reason, especially the way they slide around in the bed of a pick up

One trick to keep from overfilling: when I fill my 2320, I leave the key in the first position, so I can watch the fuel gauge as it gets to full. On mine, it's full when the needle's just past the top of the gauge.

I agree the safety valve keeps fuel from getting everywhere, but 5 gallons of diesel gets pretty heavy after a while!
