above the tap. many old tractor fuel taps have a finger sized screen above the tap around the fuel pickup tube, then you have a screen in the sed bowl itself. still some more have a screen at the carb too.

If you clean the tank and have the screens in I would not add the inline.

yep.. i've seen inlines actually cause problems.. etc
