Oil & Fuel Fuel Issue

I have a Mahindra 7010 and having a fuel issue where it loses fuel line pressure when its not running therefore making difficult cold starts. I can pump the hand primer pump a few times and the tractor will start when cold. There are no obvious fuel leaks. Fuel does not appear to be getting into the oil via the injector pump. Does/should the hand primer pump hold pressure on the line? If not, any suggestions?

I don't know Mahindra but you should verify whether fuel can flow freely from the tank. Sometimes algae will build up in the tank itself and block the fuel exit. You can also draw a partial vacuum in the tank if your vented cap gets plugged. You can loosen the cap a bit to see if that solves the problem. I'd start there and make sure fuel is flowing freely at various points until you arrive at the first pump.

If it's an in tank electric lift pump check valve in pump may have failed allowing fuel to drain back key off?

Thanks. I do plan to check the flow between the tank and the first filter. Good point on the vent of cap possibly being clogged.

The fuel feed appears to be gravity flow from the tank. Mahindra's website does not show an electric pump in the tank and I dont see any sign of wires leading to the tank. There is a fuel supply line that goes to a double set of filters and from there to a Bosch injector pump. The hand primer pump sits on top of the fuel filter canister closest to the injector pump. Really odd setup......
