FT Foton 404 PTO Problem

The PTO is stuck in the low speed position and the shift leaver will not move on my Foton 404, I have had the tractor going on 7 yrs trouble free and would appreciate any advice on where to start on correcting the problem.

I Have not had that problem come up, Is the lever moving ? If not spray it with WD40. If it's moving but nothing is happening, you will prob. have to remove the lift box to see whats going on

Thanks Tommy no it not froze from not using its something inside im just not sure where to start, from my parts book that came with the tractor it looks like I should start with the top plate in the rear of the tractor above the PTO shaft? The lever that shifts between hi speed neutral and low speed is springy feeling. The tractor has about 190+ hrs on it.

You can start there, but I don't think you are going to see much without removing the lift box, which will give you access to everything

Yeh, I agree, if it's like my 254 foton, than the oil box under the seat must come off to access the rear end, disconnect the tubes to the box, take the seat off and remove the bolts all the way around. you'll need new gasket seal before putting back on. My pto lever is on my left side when driving so it's switching a gear inside I believe.
