I checked my oil and it was full to the top of the dip stick tube with diesel fuel. What could cause this?

Fuel injector pump is leaking were it is bolted to the engine. This is were the pump is timed with engine Much like the disrbutor in a car

Do I need to replace the Pump? Or is there a seal or gasket that needs to be replaced?

I just bought this tractor. So far it seems as though parts are only available on the net. How hard is it to find someone who can rebuild this pump?

FT is still being produced in India, but are no longer being imported to USA.So most of the dealers either went out of busines or changed brands. parts are getting scarce at old FT dealers. I had lots of big problems with mine, two blown head gaskets, hydralics quit working etc I bought it new for 20k and sold it two years later for 13k and was happy to see it leave.. Take your injector pump to a large tractor shop .most will work on any brand or will be able to get you in touch with someone who does.

Okay, thanks. If I am looking at the correct part, the injector pump costs $1500.00. Rebuild seems the best option providing it is not to expensive. I bought the tractor with 3150 hours on it. So far I think this is the only major problem.

I sent it to Test Calibration in Moblie AL for an inspection and estimate to fix. I will post their findings asap.

if it has a lift pump in the fuel system that is where i would have checked first and i would still change it if it has one

I am not sure what a lift pump is. This tractor has an intigrated Fuel pump and Injector pump. The fuel tank is higher than the engine. I don't see anything else that could be leaking diesel into the engine. It seems everything else is bolted externally. I sure hope this is the problem. I should know something Monday.

I am sure that is your problem. Even if it had a lift pump, it would be external to the engine. I have never seen one that wasnt just bolted to the engine block with fuel in/fuel out line. Seals on the injector pumps go out all the time on that many hours. I dont know if your pump has internal oil reservoir. We had a 9000 Ford in the 70s that held about a quart of motor oil that you changed whenever you changed engine oil. It started out 40W oil and ended up about 10W with the diesel mixture. I suppose that kept the shaft seal lubricated. I dont know if the new tractors have that. I need to really look at my LS and see. Might have just been a Ford thing but Farmtrac looks to be built on the old 200/3000/4000 design.

the lift pump drives off the cam shaft yes it is externaly mount but has a cut out in the back of it with a lever sticking out to make it pump if the difram in the pump goes bad it will bypass oil into the crankcase. and if your 9000 was getting diesel into the injection pump case it was the lift pump because that tractor had a sims inline pum
