I have pretty much stopped watching pro FB because of it. Its not the flag, it's the lack of respect for our country. If they want to do something about social justice, they can donate some of their money.
There's always some social injustice, for all types of people.

Tonight i passed the scene of an accident that happened a few yrs back. A marine had stopped to help someone with a flat tire, and was killed by a hit and run driver in a box truck. The driver and truck was never found. The site is marked with a US flag and a marine corp flag, each on a short pole stuck in the ground. Probably maintained by local marines. No lights, and they dont take them down. But the flags are in good shape.

That's still were I disagree, especially if you are going to nit pick flag etiquette. It states to stand, face the flag, with your hand over your heart.

One is absolute disrespect, the other is unintentional ignorance typically.

I don't lose sleep. But I don't like it.

The point is we ALL PICK AND CHOOSE what WE feel is appropriate per Flag etiquette, and you have to remember, for most of the part, that is dictated by what our government (made up by men) tell us. If you're going to get pissed at FB players kneeling, you might as well get just as pissed at every other ignorant US citizen that doesn't know how to even fly the Flag.

During the pledge of allegiance it was customary to give the Bellemy salute and no one gave it a second thought.

Do I really really care if a US Flag is blowing in hurricane winds? Not really because I can't control it. Do I really care if people are flying their flags at night with lights? Not really because I can't control it. Do I really care if FB players are kneeling during the NA when up to 10 years ago, most weren't even out on the field during the NA to begin with? Not really because they are doing nothing to how I want to respect the flag.

As someone else mentioned, it's the NA issue that will be the downfall of pro football, but the known after effects of the head injuries. The reality is at the youth level, football participation is down, and I believe it's going to get much worse. I know my one boy wants to play football, but that is a no go which I endorse even though I played a little.

I stopped watching pro baseball in 1994-95 when they went on strike. Anyone going on strike because their average salary was going to be raised from $1.2 million per year to "just" $2.6 million per year over a 7 year period is an idiot. I switched to little league. Much more satisfying.

The guy repeats proper flag protocol for tattered flags, and donated the flag to the American Red Cross. They're the ones auctioning it off for hurricane relief. I see nothing wrong with it.
