When it's that cold outside. You need to bring it in the house where it's nice a warm.

Time for a block heater for sure...also Powerservice for the fuel...I would tarp and add some kind of portable heat(salamader ect).Block heater should suffice.

Just leave them running once started, you could get a small generator and make power overnight off your PTO. LOL, Lots of transport truck up north almost never get shut off in the -20 range.:D

I bought my DK45 in 2006 and it came with a block heater. The plug in is on the left side just forward of the cab. I plugged it in a couple of times the first winter, but haven't done so since...it seems to start up just fine without it. Minus 20 C (a few degrees below zero F) or so is about as cold as it gets here, though.

So far, cross my fingers, my DK40 has started fine even at -25. I run the glow plugs a little longer before hitting the starter.

Try a heat gun for removing paint etc. or a high powered hair dryer to warm up the starter. Then go to a block or radiator hose heater once things come back to workable temps.
Try to not fry the starter- just heat it enough so it will turn over the engine. At those temps you may have fuel issues too. Keep away from the fuel bowl with any type heater. You might be able to wrap the starter with pipe heat tape long enough to get her started.
They also make dipstick heaters too.

It didn't have anything to do with the cold but I had that happen once to my tractor where it just clicked repeatedly and didn't start. I put the charger on the battery to test it and it was at 95%. I took off both terminals and cleaned them which didn't help. I called my dealer and the tech suggested I take the ground cable off where it connects to the frame and clean that contact. If it has a bad ground, the battery cannot send as much "juice" to the starter.

I cleaned the rusty bolt and metal it was connected to and that solved it! It started right away and hasn't given me a problem since. I now clean that ground every year.
