Hello all, I finally signed up. Can a 790 owner with experience tell me if reversal of front wheels will make tractor less scary on slopes? I am afraid on slight slopes (feel only)

I don't havew a 790, but I had simailar issues with my Yanmar. Moving the wheels out helped, but loading them really made a huge differance.

It might make it less scary in a "warm fuzzy feeling" kind of way. It won't actually make it any more stable however, unless the tractor actually tips far enough to hit the front axle pivot stop. Putting the rear wheels in a wider position, if possible, will do much more for side to side stability.

I would make sure to find out from a reliable JD source - like owner's manual or service rep. On my NH, the rears can be dished outwards, but the fronts shouldnt. Apparently, it stresses the front drive train/axle/bearings(?) because the geometry is changed.

I second the suggestion to load the rear tires with fluid/foam for stability and turn them to their widest stance.
