I currently have a B7800 with a LA402 Fel. My problem is when I take off the Fel and put on my mowing deck the front end becomes to light and I need to add weight. Because of the tubular frame work I'm not able to use suitcase weights on the frame. (The Fel guard gets in the way) Has anyone had this problem and what would be the solution. Ultimately I'd like to purchase something that would bolt on and extend the frame out so I could use the suitcase weights but I haven't found anything yet.

Shel, I'm curious. What "mowing deck" are you using? I used a Howse 500 brush hog and a Bush Hog RDTH60 rear finish mower on my B2710 with the FEL off and never felt the need for front weights.

Hi,

Foam filling the tires on my B2910 added [my guess] about 140 lbs to the weight.

I did not do it for the weight, but for puncture proofing. There was a lot of glass in one area of my property I was cleaning up last year. The front R4s puncture easily I found out...

Anyway that might be an option for you. They are still flexible to some extent...but also are able to carry weight pretty well.

I've attached a photo I took the day before yesterday...amazed me the the b2910 did not flich picking up that concrete out of a pile of fill I had dumped in my driveway.

Loaded rear tires and a box blade on the back for ballast, by the way.

edit: I guess there are still some problems here as the attachment did not work, but it did yesterday [that thread was lost apparently...] I'll try to post that photo later...

Frank,

I changed my display name a while back and as the result I got erased in the recent event...I guess muhammad put me back to vet member...

That piece of concrete was wider in the bucket than out at the end...it was pretty much balanced and it was BIG. I took it real slow and got it to where I wanted to drop it...it could have fallen out at any moment probably. The teeth of the toothbar made all the difference...

By the way, I think I had about 1, 070 post or so at the moment of erasure...don't really have a exact idea...I remember you... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif...dissapointed you don't remember me... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Oh well, guess I will go back to my closet now... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm using a Bush Hog RDTH 60 also. When I'm mowing going up a slope you can feel the front end come up slightly. It's really noticable when I lift up the back mower when traveling from field to home.

OK, I understand that. My tractor's front end felt very light when I'd come up out of a borrow ditch, and turning at the same time with the mower lifted, but never got off the ground. But when actually mowing, I had the 3-point in "float" so it was never a problem. Of course, most of my mowing was on fairly level ground.
