I have a GT14 that the front PTO has been acting up on.
Twice lately it has quit working but when I stop and let it sit for a while it will work again when I restart the tractor.

Has anyone else had this problem or have any idea what it might be?

How expensive is a new PTO asm and where can I get one?

The GT14 was built for the US. You should be able to get anything for it from a Yanmar dealer. It is likely that you can repair your clutch. The symptoms sound like they are related to the strength of the magnetic coils that actuate the clutch. Over time, the windings can degrade, and temperature effects their ability to generate the magnetic field, thus after cooling down, it works again for a while.

First contact a Yanmar dealer.

We have encountered this quite a few times. It could be the coil is weak, or out of adjustment. Also could be the bearings going bad, causing it to heat up and kick out. Or it may be the delay timer going bad, or a combination of these. You may want to unbolt it and UPS it to us, we will test/rebuild it as necessary. Gary J. gandgjamieson@pgtv.net

Thanks for the imputs. I also had a friend who had a similar problem on a different tractor and it was a bad switch. I am going to look into it as soon as I get a chance and will let you know what happens.

Jamtrac2002 If I want to UPS it to you what is your address?

I'd put my money on a bad coil . I've had several customers with this same sympton.
