front loader not working without 3ph not operatring

ive tried to search for an answer for this, but this seems not to be a common issue

a friend of mine has an early 80's kubota B8200. the issue we are having with it is, unless the 3ph is either being operated up, or the control lever is in the full up position, the loader wont work at all. the bucket wont curl or the main boom wont go up. it goes down just fine at any time and it will hold position. other than that, no FEL operation unless 3ph is being operated up.

any help would be very much appreciated, i really dont know that much about these. i have a pretty good basic understanding of hydraulics, just not specifics.

also forgot to mention, he said hes having issues with the power steering at times. to it seems everything from that control block on the right side of the frame tunnel on is what hes having issues with.

Did he mess with the hyd block on the tractor. I believe there is a switch on there that selects the FEL or 3pt. Turn it left or right and see if it makes any difference.

I have the B9200 which has a hyd block on the right side. My switch is in the alt hydraulics position for a log splitter. A FEL would use the same ports.

i was looking at that valve, but wasnt sure wich way it was supposed to be turned. i'll stop at his place tomorrow after work and check it out.
