I had a Ford 1100 4x4 and wanted just a couple more horsepower to run a finish mower better, so I bought a 1210 to go along with it. A friend how owns the 1100 with the option for me to own it at a later date.
My question is, if I install a Ford 768A loader on the 1210 or the 1100, where does the hydraulic power come from to run the loader. On the 1210, it has a block on the right side next to the transmission that is switchable when auxiliary hydraulic power is needed, but the 1100 does not have such a block.
For people who own a small Ford such as the 1100 or 1210 (or 1200,1300, 1210, 1310 etc) with a loader, where are you tapping into the hydraulic system to power the loader?
I realize a pto powered pump would probably give a little more volume, but that tends to tie up the pto which is needed for other uses.
I appreciate any help.

re: PTO pump... most hydraulic systems won't work without a reservoir, due to fluid expansion and contraction, and the need for cooling. So, even if you could rig up a PTO pump, you'd still be short a reservoir, and usually a filter, at a minimum.

Bypass valve would be another component you probably don't want to skip, as a hydraulic pump could stall an engine, if totally locked up against an immovable load.

On the 1100 you would do it the old fashioned way. The tractor wasn't designed for a loader (or any other hydraulic attachments actually) so you would just interrupt the line from the hydraulic pump going to the lift housing. Make what you need to run a hose into a loader valve (one with power beyond would be my choice), another hose leading back into the original lift system, (the sump line if using power beyond) and you're in business. It might take a little fab work on your part, but certainly can be done.

There is an adapter block that has to be installed on the top cover assembly to get a supply and return for the loader. It is pictured here, but not available anymore.

Kleiber Tractor has one for sale: NEW HOLLAND Part # SML25854 INACTIVE:BLOCK » Kleiber Tractor and Equipment, Texas

Ebay lists one: Mitsubishi 1600-2650, Ford 1100-1910 Tractor Power Beyond Hydraulic Block | eBay

Last post in this forum thread, the guy can make one: Looking for SML25854 Hyrdraulic Adpater Block for Ford Tractor

Good info!
BTW, Ford has the 768A loader listed as a FEL for the 1100 and the 1210.
I am attaching a picture of the side of the 1210 and wonder if this block on hydraulic lines can be used to power the loader. Pic
probably doesn't show enough of the system to track it

That is the block on the 1210 to tie into. I am pretty sure the front port is pressure for the loader and the back port is return. With the lines hooked up, you need to turn the slotted spool, on the block, so that oil can go to the loader.

That is what i was hoping for!
I still haven't decided if I am going to spend the money to purchase the loader or not. I have a pair of 70 HP tractors with loaders, so it would seem like a toy after those. However, it would probably increase the value of the tractor significantly. My friend that I traded the Ford 1100 to was considering it, but seems to think once he spreads the gravel in his driveway he won't have any use for a FEL. At our age, I can think of a lot of things to use it for instead of using my back!

Yeah, it seems like a glorified shovel, but beats shoveling by hand@

Shovel work isn't something he does much of, but he is aways building or fabricating something or playing with a boat motor, (ie taking it off the boat) so I think it would be a good idea. Just picking something up can be hard on our backs. He did adapt a jib crane I gave him to mount on a trailer, so he does have a way to pick things up, so maybe he has a point. That trailer with it's jib crane won't go into some of the places he can take the tractor.
