Front Blade

/ Front Blade #11
I have an 8' western pro blade on my L4400 and it works great. Just mounted it to a quick-tach plate for the loader. I have about 500 lbs of weight on the 3-point and loaded rear tires with chains and can plow just about anything. With the plow on the loader I am able to pile snow 10 to 12 feet high. Growing up on a farm all we had was a tractor with a 3-point blade and this is so much better!

I don't like that style of blade, I have one similar to it. When you start pushing snow a with a blade that requires you to use float on the loader it takes weight of the front and it will push the tractor sideways. It is also a alot of weight riding on the skid shoes, you have the weight of the blade and the loader riding on them. They will tear up gravel bad. I recommend a blade that floats at the quick attach to avoid these problems.

This is my set up, cannot imagine anything working better front blade wise. Probably more expensive, takes longer to mount/dismount, and takes up more room to store, but you will not be disappointed with performance or stength. Philip.

Just a little more info. I welded ears on the quick-tach plate to attach the blade so the blade floats independent of the loader just as it would on a truck mount. For the hydraulics I ran hoses from my rear remotes for the blade so I still have full use of the loader for adjusting angle of attack if needed for hard packed snow.
