Front axel assembly for B7100D

I have a B7100 manual shift 4WD that needs a front axel assembly. This is an older unit -- early 80's



Anyone recommending a source for parts?

From Kubota locally they would be about $CAN 3,000 if they can find them. Tractor isn't worth *that* much.

They usually come with a front axle, why not repair the axle it already has?

Good question! Why not?

And I wonder what kind of front drive axle it has? That B7100 70s/80s era was right when some Kubota and other tractor manufacturers were still using the old style front drive axles with big U joints on each side to allow the front wheels to drive and steer. The modern tower and bevel gear type front end that most tractors use today had just been invented and wasn't in wide use yet because of patents. Parts for those older style front axle might be getting hard to find.
