I just read mostly_gas's thread and I may have the same or a similar problem. I may have the same problem, need advice. I just started my 1700 and while changing implements and letting it idle, the guage went to hot. I lifted the hood and saw what looks to be antifreeze comming from between the gas tank and the rear of the engine. My question, is there a freeze plug or a core plug there, or niether? I can not see it without taking the tank off. Is this something I can fix myself? Where did you get your plugs?

hammer, screwdriver and pair of pliers.. either knock a hole in it's center ..push screwdriver in about half inch and then twist it to the side and pull out with pliers.. or tap it near a side edge witht he screwdriver till it spins... then yank out..

they are soft metal.. they give way pretty easilly.
