Hi,anyone know what the round pipe attatching frames on these old loader frames are made of they "seem" to measure out to be 2" schedule 40 pipe.but the only ones around after 50+ years are in rough shape.I have one to redo and the heavy round pipe just looks "right" on older machines.1) would schedule 40 steel pipe work? 2)are there better ways/materials to redo these old frames?TIA for any info.

I have a step-thru Wagner loader frame that was mounted on a Ferguson 35. The crossbar where the bucket cylinder is mounted needs welding but the rest of the frame looks serviceable. The bucket cylinder is not too bad but the rods on the lift arm cylinders are pitted pretty bad. If it is of any use you can have it.

I cant remember the exact size of the 2 Ive dealt with bit it was around maybe shy of 1/8th. I had to cut one down in sections to fix some dobbering and extra bracing off I used all black pipe I had around the shop.

If your installing the steel yourself after you get it there no one will be able to tell what thickness it is and if it holds up to your work you'll be fine. Bush-Hog bought out Freeman I'd say in the late seventies and I'm unsure of where Wagner ended up. It's amazing as to how many companies that at one time were very strong and then they just get gobbled up or go away.
