Free standby generator

I was given this generator free if I could get it out of the building!! Needless to say I moved fast to get it out. They were replacing with a new one and wasn't paid to remove it. Reason to replace was the motor as spitting out oil from the exhaust. I looked and only had tip of pipe wet 1/4 inch and one small drop of oil.
I'm now trying to find out who makes the motor as I have gotten several answers from John Deer to no answer. I don't think it will take much to put it back to running but I need to know what motor is in it. I did get the books with it. Says 2.2 liter, 1800 rpm, 12.5 kw, direct excited, 120/240 1 phase 60 hz.
Also got the automatic transfer switch and a battery charger setting on a 60 gal tank.
I asked a yanmer diesel man and he said to id by the injector pump. It has a Lucas cav then says Mazda part # (can't read). I have goggled Mazda 2.2 liter but only find 3600 rpm diesel's, no 1800's. Anyone know if it makes a difference.

just a guess here, but I'd think the cam and maybe the pump would be different between the 2 speed ratings. maybe not even that.

I would say that 1800 rpm is what they want the gen set to run at to get 60 cycles and the engine you are looking up is a stock engine that has many uses

Might try to contact Generac with the serial number of the gen head and see who they sold it to.

Yeah, contact Generac. Here is a link to their customer service website and a owners manual search. You will need the model number off of that generator nameplate(I couldn't quite read it off the second pic you posted). The manuals may be available in their database.

Nice gift you have been given.

Re engine - do you have the bits that are not seen attached ? Fuel injectors and injector furl lines, glow plug wiring bits etc.?
It also looks like someone has removed the cylinder head at some time - or at least loosened some of the head bolts (some still unscrewed). You will need to do some work on the unit to get it running properly. I see the cooling hoses removed for the radiator too.

Just a thought, does the generac electrical housing have an hour meter on it ? If it does, the hours run will help to determine your maintenance needs.

A very handy size as it should give you a 100 amp service rating - enough to power a medium sized house easily.
