Fransgard V4000 winch

Wondering what to offer for a 5 year old V4000, its been used, but not too much, it has always been stored outside. I am going to get it this afternoon hopefully and use it for a while. It belongs to my father in law and he is in FL

What should I offer Him?

Thats a good question, do you like his daughter a lot? Just joking, they normally can bring some good high prices at auctions and that unit sells for about 3,000 new.

You say it hasn't been used a lot but it is stored outside, how's the cable? This is a tough call, best to look at it as how much you can use it, they are nice and if the machine is nice offer him half of new.

I like Art's advice. I usually buy attachments used, but in good condition. Half the price of new is a good starting point to me.

I am looking for a jl351p Farmi........... seems lie anyone who hase one of them has zero intention of EVER letting them go. I may have to break down and buy a new one........

If he'll let you have it for $1500 that would be a very good price. I don't think you can even find a logging winch with half that pulling capacity for close to that price.

Nice winch and would be a great deal at $1500! Not too far to the mountains from here, so if you decide you don't want to spend the money I can always drive up there and we can load it right into my truck. We have a place near South Colton if you know where that is.

You can find the farmi 351 from time to time in listings. Try craigslist in you area or area's or the surrounding area's with in a driving distance.

I've got a major mess to clean up from the ice storm we had; hopefully the high winds today won't bring even more down. I've been looking into a logging winch they seem to hold their value on the used implement market fairly well if you can even find one. I found a new Fransgard V-3507 that I think would be ideal to use with my Kubota B3030. Not sure what it usually goes for but I can get it for around $3100 including a lower pulley, cable w/hook & 2 choker sliders, 2 chains, & PTO shaft. It's a really nice winch rated at 7275 lbs. pulling power; protective screen guard is standard on Fransgards. Anyone know what this model usually sells for and/or have any opinion about this winch?
