fram oil filters

i would like to thank darkday and dargo for bringing the fram oil filter problem to my attention. it was the first one that i used and it will be the last one. thanks guys.

What is the problem with the fram oil filters Tommy, I didn't read that post?

they say they ain't no good . and as for as i read on the internet they ain't no good there either thats about all i know . something to do with flow back and leavin your motor dry and stuff like that. so i'm gonna be switchin back to another brand.

Fram filter cartridge's have a small outside diameter with a rather low filter element surface area (193 sqin), and features cardboard end caps that are glued in place. The rubber anti-drainback valve seals the rough metal backplate to the cardboard end cap and easily leaks, causing dirty oil to drain back into the pan. If you have a noisy valve train at startup, this filter is likely the cause. The bypass valves are plastic and are sometimes not molded correctly, which allows them to leak. The backplate has smaller and fewer oil inlet holes, which may restrict flow.

Fram and mobil 1 are the ones that stick out on a test done by bobistheoilguy.com where they showed pictures of a oil pressure gauge with a OEM filter vs all the others what it ended up was pressure was significantly reduced by fram and mobil 1 and a few others I think but it doesn't matter to me. I buy OEM for all my vehicles, toyota is the brand of all my cars and they make good filters and of course deere makes all my farm equipment and good filters. Plus don't you have to have a different type of filter for diesel ? I know you have to have different oil but I can't remember about the filter.
