Well... Ed, I think my top end is only 14 mph. I know this , because when my van takes it's last breath, I may have to drive my branson to get to work. Work is 18 miles away, so I was figuring more than an hour's drive. Anyhow, I know I wasn't going over 14mph.
As for the deer, it was not so much the top end speed, but the technique, and accessory equipment. My EZ landscaper toothbar has just the right spacing on the teeth wheras the neck will fit snuggly between, without dropping the deer. Now , I have given a lot of thought to the spacing on the toothbar...as I never want to be in front of the bucket when my wife has her hands on the controls. Anyhow, as you can see from the picture, the deer did an evasive manuever at the last minute and did a flip. Never mind though...the toothbar came thru and snagged him by the legs anyway. That's my story and I am sticking to it. If you look at my past history of posts, you will see I have had similar luck with catching bluegills with the branson. It sure is one fine machine.
