Greetings, Often when shifting into foward gears the engine bogs like it is still in reverse as well as the forward gear. I have to shift into reverse and out and shift again. I'll try to upload and exploded view of gearbox/with shift tower.

In the exploded view item #10 the pattern template. You can see, #12 & #6, that it is shown bolted to the tower. If that were to be loose I'm thinking that might cause the problem I mentioned. Have any thought on it?
I know most have Jinmas, they may be similarly made.

Is this similar to your tractor? Were you able to remove the sheetmetal without raising the instrument console by just removing the handles on either side of the shift stick?

Push down on the shift lever as you move it. Assuming that works - there may be a set screw somewhere in the side of part #6. Push the lever down again, tighten the set screw. .

Greg, I'll take a look tomorrow but I doubt there is a set screw. Looks like the selecter plate is bolted to the tower from the bottom before it is installed. Have you had occasion ever to remove the tower on your Jinma? Are the shifting levers in the same order on you tractor?

Had no cause to remove shifter on either Jinma, so I can't say for sure. Wasn't sure about your Foton either, just guessing (hence the words "may have"). Both current tractors have lever set screw. The TS354C hasn't given me that problem yet, but I've had to adjust a KM454 lever twice. I think it was the shuttle shift lever, but they all work on a similar tongue and groove design. On mine, the set screw adjustment sets the "tongue" deeper into the "groove".

NO! There is no set screw. It is as shown in expanded view I put up.

OK, it was worth a shot. Have you pulled the gearbox cover yet? Or are you still workin' on gettin' that red sheet metal off?

Greetings, I'm going to wait for spring to examine the tranny. I was wondering if anyone else had the shifting thing I mentioned. After going through the gears, high and low range, it seems better. I still haven't found out all about the gears. I haven't yet shifted gears while the tractor is moving. I would like to talk to someone with the same set up as I have. I wonder how much different the Jinmas are. Richard
