After reading thru 16 pages of this http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/trailers-transportation/145788-ford-2009-v-10-a-16.html
I am not brand loyal, as i own 2 duramax trucks, 1 dodge gasser, several fords gas and 7.3's
Just wanted to start a fresh thread on this!
3 mos. ago purchased a 2006 6.0 f350 xl truck 4x4 cruise, tilt, and air 72k miles! price paid $12k
There goes the resale argument!
This truck cost me 1200 for one injector replacement, and the starter went out also around 300. Changed oil twice at about100 per change, doing it myself and changed both fuel filters once at 75.00. All of this with less than 75000 miles, oh yeah no warranty, that ran out 4 mos ago! Previous owner already replaced turbo, injection pump, and water pump!
After much research, found out it very well may end up costing another 5-10k
by the time egr, head gaskets, oil cooler, and the rest of the injectors need replaced! This may happen tomorrow or never but, according to eveything i read, it's likely
Can't see much savings here!
Ebay has 06 King Ranch pick ups that are selling for less than 15k with good miles
Anyway, traded it for an 06 v10 just like it Monday cause i absolutely love the Super Duty trucks!
I have other trucks i love too.. LOL
Kinda wanted to keep this just Ford topic, but could say the same sorta thing about my 01 Duramax that cost me $4500 to have injectors replaced at 62,000 miles ( about 6 mos out of warranty at the time!)
Or the $4200 bill I got for an injection pump, lift pump and injectors on the last cummins i had!
The way i see it any fuel mileage loss will be a mute point compared to owning The 6.0! or any of the newer diesels imo! Yes i do work them and yes i regularly tow 5-12k on a 4500lb trailer for a gcvw of up to 26k
