Ford 9N intermittent spark, won't run

Well there's a good lesson on taking info from an aftermarket seller as gospel.

The description for this Sparex resistor says it replaces both the A and B resistors and makes it seem as if the only difference is the mounting screws, and it includes both sizes.

Only one version was available from TISCO for years. That's all I sold and so far as I know the mount was the only difference between the two part numbers.

I got that resistor on Amazon but it did not come with 2 sets of screws as advertised, it came with one set that was too small and was metric. The terminal posts were also metric and larger than the originals. So I had to drill out the mounting holes, use a dremel tool to move them farther apart, counter sink them, and grind down the heads of the original screws so I could reuse them. Then I had to change the ring terminals on some of my wires because they wouldn't fit on the new posts. At least the resistor works and solved my spark issue, hopefully it lasts.
