Well, l did it; I bought a farm tractor. My little John Deere 750 can finally be relegated to lawn duty where it belongs.
It's a Ford 950, with new tires, new paint, new seals, etc, and it runs great! This tractor has spent the last 50+ years on a small farm here in eastern Michigan, where it was bought new and used ever since. I bought it from a neighbor of the farmer, who picked it up when the farmer retired; the neighbor did the tires and paint, and has really only used it as a show tractor since then.
It will be used but not abused here on my 10 acre homestead. I am in the market for a 2 or 3 bottom plow, and will be putting about 5 acres into dent corn with this ol' girl.
