Ford 770A rebuild

I had a ford 1600 handed down to me with a (assuming) 770A bucket attachment. The hydraulics worked fairly well last summer but had leaks on the bucket tilt cylinders. Now bucket won't lift at all and am looking to rebuild cylinders. Looking for suggestions on kits and process, do I need to purchase a manual or is it pretty straight forward? Thanks in advance for the advice

Need to be looking on that loader for a tag to be sure what it is before assuming and ordering parts, if I remember right, there is about 5-6 years between the end of 1600 production and the 770A coming out

My 1600 has the 770 loader. I have rebuilt the tilt cylinders on both sides about a years or so apart. They have a 1 inch bar (ram, I don't know) and the kits I bought on line fit fine except for 1 seal. It is an internal seal and the kits supply a seal that is too thick to fit in the slot. Diameters are good but it just does not fit. I was able to go to a local hydraulic supply house and get the correct seal. Seem to be a common part. Fairly simply rebuild except for the incorrect part.

Don't think there is a difference in tilt cylinders on the 770 series loaders. I put a 770B on my 1700 (from a 1710) and the cylinders are the same.

Maybe this is common knowledge, (wasn't for me) but when you remove the hydraulic fitting on the cylinder you can insert a 3/8 dia drill rod to loosen / tighten the gland nut on the ram. The wipers expand so this has to be done with the cylinder assembled. I left the cylinder on the tractor so I could tighten the gland nut.
