Hi, my 3pt is lowering accurately, holding forever, but it only raises when I play with the lift lever or the speed adjuster. My oil has no signs of water and is at a good level, and I changed the filter. What could be the broblem?

Install a hyd gage and check some pressures.

Thanks JJ, I'm going out to get one now. What max. psi gauge should I use?

3000 psi.

I'm getting 55 psi every time I raise the lift. The psi reading is constant but the 3ph is comming up in about 3 to 5 short movements.

No, 55 is not going to be the right psi? Typically around 2000 - 2200 psi, so you're not in the right ballpark.

Sounds like an airleak somewhere or plugged filter, oil is not getting to your pump evenly/freely for some reason.

It depends on where you have the guage. 55psi would probaly be about what I would expect it to take to raise the lift with nothing attached. The 2000psi should be max system pressure, but you will never find that much in the rockshaft piston unless the lift is connected to something it cannot lift.

Going to search for leaks, plugs and kinks.

Got it - I guess I'd hook it up to something it couldn't lift, wasn't thinking of just raising empty arms. 55 makes sense then.

I just have very little experience with fords so I dunno where a system pressure test port would be located.

Does your tractor have a loader valve or remote vale?

If it does, use a tee and connect it to the IN port of either valve.
