my dad has a 6000 uses it for blowing snow and mowing grass. it has a bad leaking front trans seal it still works ok would it be worthwile to replace the seal? im sure some damage has been done to the selct o speed. the brakes and 3 point arent working, the power steering is. I think they all run off the hyd pump on front? is there a place online where I can see a hyd schematic? any advice would be appreciated. how hard is it to fix a select o speed?

I guess this is the 6000 Commander? You might get more responses if you repost here in the vintage section. Another site is ytmag.com. If the select-o-speed is damaged it could be expensive to repair and hard to find parts for. Good luck.

a MANUAL would be a big help
So far sounds like you go a good engine.. and everything from there back is iffy... gotta love the SOS.. and unfortunately.. for that tractor.. sos was the only trans option... not like you can swap an 8spd into it like you could do with a 5000.. etc.
